Q: Ovulation Experts????

Hi, just a quick question. For the last few months i've been trying to identify when I am ovulating. I've noticed the difference in discharge around the 15th - 18th day each month, which I know this is when I am ovulating. But my question is, can the time in the cycle of when a woman ovulates change? This month I noticed the watery discharge around the 10th day of my cycle. Is it possible to ovulate anytime in the cycle even though I normally ovulate around the middle? My periods are regular each month.
Anyones views are appreciated xx

I am by no means a fertility expert by my ovulation day changes month to month. It is usually right around the 15th but this month I am already on day 18 and it has not come. I am usually very regular with my period and ovulation (as well as lute phase). I monitor my temp and cervical fluid. My mom was in town visiting so I think that made my cycle a little wacky. I have found that taking my tempeture is a little more acurate for me when trying to find out when I am ovulating. Some people have cervical fluid throughout their cycle. I guess after a few months of monitoring it and you don't see why they are so wacky, it might be worth getting it looked at. My dr said that the ovulation kits often predict after you have already ovulated so I stopped using them. My husband and I bd every other day from cycle day 10 until I olvulate. Needless to say, this month has been a long bd period!

Hey, thanks for replying! I'm a bit confused this month! As I said, I normally only get the watery discharge around the 15th day. But this month i've had the watery discharge 3 times! Which i've never really noticed before! So now i'm wondering, can woman ovulate more than once? This may sound like a stupid question! But I dont know! My period is due tomorrow, i've had no signs of it yet. My husband and I have been avoiding the risky time for now. But next month i'd like to know exactly when my egg is ready!! So we could maybe ttc!

I know that you can only ovulate one time each month. There are several reasons why you might have the cervical fluid but my only suggestion is that maybe you should monitor everything for a few months. That way you will really begin to understand when you're fertile and aren't. When I first got off bc pills I had a ton of fluid all the time and as the months when on that "dried up". Now I really only get it around ovulation as well as at the beginning of my cycle. I would not be concerned about the fluids unless you notice itching or order. Then you might have an infection. If you have fluid after your cycle is done and you don't know when you ovulate, I would use back up birth control until you know when ovulation is. It's funny because my husband and I were trying to be so careful right after we got married because we wanted some time to ourselves before we had a baby. Little did we realize how tricky it was for us to get pregnant. I hope when the time is right for you that things go well. I'm sure they will!

You do not ovulate at the same time every month . Even with the most regular cycles ovulation can vary from month to month. Keep in mind that some months have more days too.

That is very true. I typically have the storybook cycle...28 days but sometimes I go longer and my olvuation day goes anywhere between day 14 and day 19...If I ovulate later, my cycle length is longer. Its really helpful to take a few cycles to monitor you temps and fluids (cervical position) and then you will get an idea of when its coming.
