I've been bullemic on-and-off for a little over a year and I want to get help. The problem is that i'm too afraid to tell someone. I've wrestled with telling my parents, my boyfriend, and my friends, but i'm too embarassed. Its too hard for me to admit that i've lost control and I have a problem. I dont want people to make a big deal about it. Being bullemic isnt admirable like being anarexic. Its a sign of failure, because I can't lose weight the healthy way by working out and eating healthy. I cant hold myself back from eating. Being bullemic makes me feel disgusting and ashamed. How can I get help without having to sacrifice my pride? I want to stop purging on my own without getting outside help. How do I do this?

hi, i'm a bulimic in recovery, so that I want to make sure that you notice that you're not the only one in trouble and that you can be helped as well as I was.
I also had a lot of trouble stuggling about other people, so I kept this always to myself until the day I decided to get help.

do you think that being anorectic is admirable? You have to rethink that. Both anorexia and bulimia are not admirable diseases. You can get help near a specialist. I suggest you find a good psychologist and a nutricionist; they will surely know what to do.

And hang on! :) talk to me anytime you need! ^^

We are here for you and you are not alone and odds are that you cannot stop this nasty stuff alone and you do need help and their is nothing to be ashamed of. Would you rather be laying in the hospital being fed through a tube going into you or have heavy-duty arthritis, having a messed up esophagus and stomach. Get the help you need, before it is too late. It is supposed to be all private and confidential and I think that you are willing to help yourself which helps.

All the best to all!

Neither anorexia nor bulimia are admirable, but neither do they mean you have failed. I know it's hard, but you need to get help - stuff like this is way too hard to fight alone. You can beat it - chances are that family, friends etc will just want to help you, but no matter how much they want to help or how much you want to help yourself you still need to get professional help, and trust me, things can get a hell of a lot better once you have good help. Don't give up - try and tell someone and get some help. You can do it!

i make their words mine and I add that this is all true. You can fight bulimia, it's nothing but a disease and, like any other, you can cure yourself and be healthy again.
When I found out that I was bulimic, I thought that i'd never beat that and be ok again, but i'm recovering and i'm feeling better and eating better, i'm controlling myself and feeling fine with and about myself.
So, you can do it to. Find things to do to keep your mind busy, that trully helps, because when you're busy doing something you like, you don't think about food, you're not eating, you're even feeling useful and worthy!
And, because you're worthy, you deserve to treat yourself better and get real help. Talk to us at anytime you wat, but get professional help if you can, ok?
Bulimia kills, and I has the worst proof of that here, at the forum. A girl, a friend of mine, died three weeks ago. Rip sarah.

Best wishes

Hi, how have you all been doing lately?
This has been quite calm these days, I guess it's because of vacations time.
