I was on a form of hormone birth control the pill and tried several kinds and options and never found one that didn't mess me up I had no sex drive , break through bleeding all kinds of fun stuff I then went off the pill completly and me and my husband planned and got pregnant with our first child , this baby is due the end of febuary , I want to be on some kind of effective birth control other than the pill after the baby and one that does not have hormones.... I have been told about the copper iud but have only heard horror stories of that , I know there is the diaphram but I am not sure how well that works and yes there are condoms but thats like a last option , any sugestions or expreinces would be greatly appreciated.

I am 24, never had babies, a few abortions, and have a copper iud..

I also work at planned parenthood part time, and have seen many many women satisfied with an iud.

I have had an iud for almost 3 years, I would not trade the hormone free living for anything! Most women try an iud because they are sick of hormones, they want their sex drive back, and they want something super effective!

Todays iud's are safer than the ones of the past, and you will find so many happy iud users.
