Hi. I was just wondering if anyone had
any idea of what is wrong with me. I have
been having many sympotoms. It all
started over a year ago when I was
diagnosed with gerd. I was taking
prevacid on and off for close to a year
but stopped taking it because I felt alot
better. About 6 months ago I began
vomiting on occasion. It got increasingly
worse up to about 2 months ago when it got
so bad that I began vomiting every time
after I ate. Sometimes it was up to 3
hours after I ate. I would get severe gas
with a putrid smell also. My stomach
would become very bloated after I ate,
then a couple hours later I would get
bloated with gas, and I would feel like I
had to have a bowel movement hours before
I actually did. I saw a specialist who
diagnosed me with gastroparesis. I do
have type1 diabetes and have been for
almost eighteen years. I wasn't surprised
by the diagnosis but, I wasn't completely
convinced. I insisted on a gastric
emptying study which came back in the
upper range of normal. The doctor still
stuck to his diagnosis, so I went to
another specialist. He sent me for an
ultrasound of my gallbladder and blood
tests for food allergies and celiac
disease. I am waiting for the results.
About a month ago I started taking papaya
enzymes which helped alot, and I was able
to eat without throwing up or getting too
bloated. Now it's getting worse again.
Does anyone have any insight, suggestions,
etc? Please let me know. I would really
appreciate it. Thanks!

Well think you did the right thing by
getting a second opinion.....Also by
getting a doc who is testing for celiac
and food allergies. As long as it's a
reliable test....Did you ask how many
foods they actually test? My little guy
turned out being allergic to all milk
products, beef and oddly enough bananas
and ginger(in addition to some others).
Relief may be as simple as changing the
enzyme you have before you eat.....Perhaps
your body has gotten used to it or even
developed an allergy to it(the papaya?).
That's why rotating what you eat is
important. Couple recommendations: change
the enzyme.....We use
enzym-complete/dpp-iv.....You can check it
out at the kirkmanslab website and see if
it's suitable for you. Also check out the
relatively new product oxypowder for
helping get your bowel movements in order
and it couldn't hurt to add probiotics to
replenish your body. :)

Even if your blood test comes back
negative, you could still have celiac
disease. This isn't a very well
recognized condition in the us. I have
it, my aunt has it, and a close friend of
mine has it... So I know a lot about it.
The only full proof mehtod there is to
finding out whether or not you have
celiacs is to cut gluten from your diet,
and see how you feel. If you are
positive, you will feel about one-thousand
times better in about two weeks...
