Pregnant?

Hello everyone.

My partner and I were last sexually active almost 3 months ago. She has not had her period in 3 months. She just got back from basic training in the military. Before she left, she was on the depo provera shot....That is why I am having doubts that she may be pregnant. I have also considered that a side-effect of the shot may be causing her to stop having periods.

She gained 30 pounds while she was gone, but almost 3 months of exercise in the military would cause quite a bit of muscle gain I would guess. I'm thinking that's why she has the added weight.

Upon returning home, she is two sizes smaller. She went from a size 4 to a size 2. Her stomach is also very toned and more flat from her workouts in the military.

Is there still a possiblity that she may be pregnant or would she be showing by now? The signs so far don't seem to match for me, such as the flatter stomach and losing 2 sizes, but the weight gain and lack of periods is bothering me. Thanks for any advice and help you all can give.

If you think she might be pregnant, get her to take a pregnancy test. As she's missed 3 periods it would give a definite result either way. I don't know much about the depo shot, but I heard it does mess up your body and make you miss periods.. So I doubt she's pregnant.

As for starting to show, I only really started showing a couple of weeks ago and i'm now 23 weeks pregnant. The more toned your stomach is, the less your muscles can stretch during pregnancy so you don't show til later.

Most people do not get their period on depo. Also with all the excersice she has been doing it can stop her periods. I don't think she's pregnant but I think it's a side effect from strenuous activities and the depo.

Okay, thanks for the great information. I'll keep my hopes up that she is not pregnant. I realize now that I did something wrong, and don't plan to become sexually active again any time soon. I'm just not financially stable enough to support a child, much less myself.

If she does happen to be, I guess i'll stick it out and hope for the best...Since I think the child should have a fair shot at life.

Her and I don't get along too well, so I also wouldn't want to see a custody battle someday in the future. Hopefully I can learn from this experience and hope that she is not.

Thanks again for any help. I will return here if I have more questions in the coming weeks and months.

I really appreciate it.
