New User, Becoming EHEALTHy
I am 58 years old and have suffered from
epilepsy from the age of 10, having grand
and petit mal siezures. I was initally
given phenobarbitone which was
supplemented with epanutin. This seemed
to do the trick.
However within the last few years I have
been suffering from what the specialist
call 'episodes', where I seem to be on
'autopilot' and cannot communicate
properly. These episodes normally last
for 2 days and have gradually increased to
weekly basis, where I do not respond to
questions or requests but stare blankly.
I can perform routine jobs but they take
longer and are often repeated.
I sit with my eyes shut or stare and make
no conversation but am aware of what is
going on around me.
I have been to the hospital and had all
the usual tests. My medication has been
changed but to no avail.
At present I am taking epanutin 400mg,
tegeratol retard 1200mg and within the
last week lamotrigine 50mg to which will
be increased gradually by my gp.
Has anybody experienced similar symptoms,
if so please get in touch.
