Hey all!
I work in a photo lab and I hafta deal wit all sorts of chemicals (theres also a kind of chemical that smells like hair dye) and we dont wear masks and I was just wondering.. Cuz my mom told me that could be dangerous from inhalation or spillage and I should talk to my doctor about it next appt... Do u guys know anything on this?? Im 13 weeks preg and just past the m/c stage so I dont wanna put myself in any harm! Thanx a bunch!

Yes, I know a lot about this actually. The chemicals in the dark room, can cause, fetal deformities, miscarriage, low birth weight, etc. Its kinda like inhaling paint, it has the same effects that drugs do on fetuses. However, if you have good ventilation, like bring in a fan and aim it toward your face, and wear a mask, you and your baby should be fine! Just don’t go in there with no protection!

I think that you should take the transfer, as far as the baby goes, I am sure he or she is fine. An amniocentesis in the next 3 weeks can determine that for sure. I wouldn’t worry though. The sooner you get out though the better!

Lol its ok to be worried! Yes your doc will probably tell you the same exact thing. I don’t think they can tell through an ultrasound, but I could be wrong. I am glad I could help, take the rest of the night relax, have a warm bath and a warm glass of milk and talk to your baby! Have a goodnight…

Amnios are everywhere! Its where they place a needle through your abdomen and take a sample of amniotic fluid from the placenta with guidance from an ultrasound but they will do a blood test first and then they will do an amnio if they results are abnormal...
Good luck

Yah I was thinking about that but then I wont be able to get my 600 hours for maternity leave.. Which would totally totally suck.. Cuz I got 500 hours now so even if I switched departments and stuff.. I'd still have my hours.. I just hate my boss in photo lab but id have a different one if I transfered to a diff department (hopefully it works out! Lol!)

Well to be honest, just call in to work tonight! You shouldn't be around all that stuff and if she is gonna be that way then fine, but don't feel badly ok, just call in and say sorry but I am not feeling well and talk to your manager later.
