Q: Stripping the Membranes....

Guys..Im curious about how it felt when you had your "membranes stripped". Some people say it hurt, some didnt...And how long did it take you to go into labor after having it done?! Im curious...Thank ya girls ! ;)

Yeah...I am curious too. My doctor said he will do that next week when my husband gets back from deployment. I am 38 weeks and not dilated or thinned out :( she is too comfortable in there! My husband is only going to be home for 2 weeks so we have to make sure she is born during that time!

I had my membranes stripped 2 times. It is very uncomfortable and even a bit painful. It made me bleed a little bit both times. It didn't work the first time and it didn't have time to work the second time because I was induced. It works for some people, but everyone is different.

I was 6 days over due with my first after gettin it done I was in labour 5 hours later with the second I was 3 days befor my due date an it didnt work they say if it hasnt worked within 24 hours it is not from the scrapping of the membrains it was just un confortable for me an I bled with them both but I think you should giv ut a go

Wow..Seems like it works for some and not for others then..:( I was curious.... 2 of my gurlfriends had their babies withing 2 days of having it done... But one said it hurt..And the other didnt..So I was gettin a vote :) thanks girls :)

liz, not dilated yet :( well hopefully when ur hubby comes home it'll hit and ya'll will get to spend ur 2 weeks with ur baby girl :)~
i've dilated to 2 and im thinning...So if not then monday ( 38 weeks) he's gonna do it to me too... So when you have it done..Let me know how it turns out for you!!! Good luck babe!

Wow kryss...You are going to have her soon can you believe it!? This 9 months has gone by faster than I thought. Let me know if you get that procedure done since my doctor is considering doing it for me next tuesday. Keep me posted!!

i had my membranes stripped and had my son later that day I didnt feel anything till after(abit of cramping/bleeding)

wishing you guys a short labour and healthy baby

Hey! Well hopefully it works as well for us as it did for you diamondz. Liz, i'll fill ya in if im around to do so... You do the same..I wanna know alllllll about it :)
let me know when ur lil one gets here also..I cant believe its almost over..Shewwwww lol.
These last few weeks are miserable haha!
