4 Months of Diarrhea-all Tests Okay Posted: 08-08-06 19:52pm
My husband has had diarrhea since april,
2006. Not just runny, but violent
diarrhea. He has been to our family
doctor, and three weeks ago he was refered
to a gi specialist. All stool samples
and blood work have come back with the
same results...Nothing wrong! The
specialist said not to worry about cancer
because there wasn't any cramping or any
blood in the stool. So they have my
husband on a restrictive diet; the first
two weeks no milk products and the second
two weeks some milk products and metamucil
three times a day along with anti-diarrhea
pills four times per day. The metamucil
makes his stomach cramp and bloat so bad
that he won't take that anymore. Next
they plan to do a colonoscopy.
The doctors are saying he might have this
problem for years and there is nothing
they can do!!! Has anyone ever heard of
diarrhea that you can't get rid of?

it could very well be ibs. Ive had ibs
for the last 6 years. Try doing a little
research and definantly check out this
page

he may have to change his whole diet
around to try and control the diarrhea.
