Q: Pain Med Alternatives For Ankylosing Spondylitis

I am wondering if there is a more effective pain medication than vicodin for relieving symptoms of ankylosing spondylitis? I am in severe pain from this disease and on days when I have flare-ups the vicodin just isn't doing much to relieve it.
Any suggestions that I could mention to my rheumatologist would be appreciated.

dear guitarshark2,

you might get better response if you post your question to the back pain forum, or you can ask our online staff medical doctor for an opinion.

There are more targeted forums which can generate more specific interest in your topic. Please let us know if we can assist you further. Best, admin

I use Dicloflex for anti-inflammatory and codeine for pain, it makes it more bearable but something stronger would be good too.
