Hi, this is for all of you out there that are living with gallstones and wondering if your life is ever going to get any better.
I suffered with severe pains caused by gallstones for years. For those of you that have had attacks you will know what I mean when I say it was the worst pain ever. It was like having a heart attack withouth the relief of death and it would last for up to 12 hours. And nothing took the pain away.
I was misdiagnosed with acid reflux and without boring you manyyears later it was eventually discovered that I had gall stones and I had the operation to have the gallbladder removed.
I was nervous about it and I was scared going into the operation and about what would happen afterwards.
Most people, you see, who recover from this never come back to a board to tell people that it's going to be okay. So you only ever read about all the bad stuff that's happened.
So, let me say. I dont suffer from the runs, I dont have any more pain, I eat whatever I want, I can drink alcohol, and in short I have my life back again without any pains. And it's great.
So, I recommend if you have gallstones and your in any sort of pain get the gallbladder removed because it will just get worse and worse.
And dont focus on all the bad things you hear might happen as a result of having it out. Life is great without it for me. And it will be for you too.
So, I wish you all a speedy recovery. And enjoy eating chocolate again when you do.
Love to you all.
Michael

I am glad you got your life back after your galbladder surgery!
I can laugh about it now but after I had my surgery, I walked up to the nurses station, pretty loaded aand asked when my surgery was and said that they were late , fell down and busted some stitches out, had to go back and get the stitches s put back in, this was years ago! After that I felt a little better but knew something was not right, justthought it was part of the healing but I got worse and worse so they took an x-ray an found out that thy had left a surgery tool in me so back to surgery I went. I still have a difficult time eating certain things such as spicy or acidy foods which some do after the surgery, now I have other medical problems but it is not related to that though. I am glad that they figured out what was finally wrong with you, sometimes these dr's upset me but I guess it goes to show that they are only human!
All the best!
