Q: skipping sugar pills while having period

I missed one of my sugar pills while having my last period ,is this ok, I heard you can skip these pills while having your period is this correct :?:

The sugar pills are not active, unless you use a brand called mircette...

You do not have to take the sugar pills as long as you can remember to take your pill correctly.
