Q: Dark Colored Blood Specimen

My dad has high blood pressure and he takes blood thinners as well as high blood pressure medication. He went to the doctor a couple of days ago and they took blood samples for tests. He said his blood was dark, almost black and the nurses noticed it but didn't know why it was that way. He didn't ask the doctor about it and I am concerned. What would cause his blood to be that dark? I am assuming that is not normal

Maybe your dad's iron level is high for whatever reason. I hope everything worked out.
