My daughter is 8 months old and I have just noticed that she has 2 swollen knots on the back of her head/kneck area, like where the skull and neck meet or hairline runs. One on left and one on the right which she has always had them but they seem larger.I was told they are called the occipital glands??Dr. Said not to worry very common in babies and said not to bring her in to watch her for a few weeks but they are large and hard and she keeps swatting at the right one like it bothers her, which is what brought my attention to the area, but she does not seem bothered when pressing on them. She acts fine and no fever.I thought glands were little pea sized but these are nickel size or bigger areas and the right is some bigger than the left .Is this common? No other glands swollen and no other problems. She was born premature at 35 weeks but with many problems and of course everything worries me .Common, uncommon? Possible infection even though no symptoms?Worried mom here :!:

My son has the same swollen glands at the back of his neck. The clinic sister also said not to be worried. I noticed the one side when he was 2 months old and now the other side is also swollen after he got his vaccinations. I think that the vaccinations has got something to do with it.

My son has had one node swollen for since my husband noticed it when he was about 1 week old (now 4 months). We went to the docto, but they said not to worry. Tomorrow we go to the doctor, but today I noticed a second one, about an inch away from the other one. Sad
