What exactly is happening when your cervix is thinning? On just sunday thier was not thinning in my cervix at all. Then when I went in on wednesday they said my cervix was already greatly thinning, what does this mean and is it normal to go that fast? I know these questions sound really stupid.

I'm wondering the same thing. At my last appointment my cervix wasn't thinned out at all. Yesterday (8 days later) I was 70% effaced. I guess it just depends on when your body is ready to progress. I know I didn't do anything different to help it along that I hadn't already been doing.

This is the natural progression to birth. No one grows their own uterus either. Nor do you participate in the miracle of your cervix dilating. These things just happen. It is what is supposed to happen.
