Increased Discharge - Is This a Possible Sign of Pregnancy? Posted: 08-02-06 23:39pm
I'm over 2 weeks late, in fact, i've just
started my third week of being late. I
don't have any nausea or any of the other
symptoms associated with pregnancy signs
but I have noticed more clear to white
discharge (no smell). Did anyone else
experience this? Is this a possible sign
that my skipped period is because i'm
pregnant?
My urine pregnancy tests, all of them,
keep coming back negative. I went to the
"free" clinic yesterday and had them do a
blood test but the results take three to
four days to come back. I didn't think
the discharge was a sign of pregnancy so I
didn't mention it to the doctor. I still
have two to three days to wait for the
test results and I am going out of my
mind.
This discharge is not normal for me near
my period but it also does not have a bad
or off odor and looks completely normal
for a time in the middle of my cycle.
So, did anyone else experience this when
they were pregnant? Is this even a
symptom of pregnancy? Or am I just
freaking out about being late?
I know discharge can get worse during
pregnancy.. So it could be a symptom. I
got loads of symptoms, and knew I was
pregnant even before I missed my period..
So I can't remember if discharge was a
problem for me then.. I just know that it
is now! Hehe
good luck with the results of your blood
test =)

Yo don't have to get all the pregnancy
symptoms, you may not get any but a lot of
discharge is a sign.Considering your more
than 2 weeks late I would say your chances
are pretty great. Please keep us updated!

Discharge is not a symptom of pregnancy.
Symptoms are swollen breasts, prominent
viens, nausea, bloated, gas, cramping ,
sleepiness ...Discharge comes on a little
later along with excessive peeing. This
can also be due to hormones and
anovulation so it really cant be your
primary source to determine pregnancy.
Wait for the blood test results.

it is if its later in
pregnancy right?If she's already 2 weeks
late it means she is about 3 or 4 weeks
pregnant,yes? So wouldn't more discharge
come already or is that way later into the
pregnancy?

she's wrong. Discharge is a sign of
pregnancy. I remember for like the week
before I found out I was pregnant I kept
running to the bathroom thinking my period
was starting because I felt wet (sorry,
tmi). Then i'd check and it was just a
massive amount of discharge. I never had
discharge prior to that. It's been
downhill from there. And i'm not just
saying discharge is a sign because I
happened to have it. Lots of women have
that. And since she's already 2 weeks
late that would make her 6 weeks along
which is late enough to exhibit signs.
Also, increased peeing is an early sign as
well.

melissa...Nope later meaning 2 nd tri.
...Obviously all women are diff...But the
majority of pregnant women have a massive
increase later on...
Hey iheart....I am not wrong. Not only
women whom are pregnant have discharge.
All women have it ! So that alone cannot
be taken as a sign! And peeing also is
generally later
No you don't have to be pregnant to have
it.. But if you don't normally get it,
suddenly experiencing it might indicate
pregnancy.

exactly. Emma, I know every woman has it
but are you saying you had discharge every
single day? I probably only had it (tmi-
like the kind that comes out and gets on
your underwear) a handful of times. Since
before I found out I was pregnant i've had
it every single day. An increase in
discharge is a sign. I go to other
pregnancy forums and most of the women
there had a noticeable change as well.
And peeing more happens in the beginning
when your uterus swells and is against
your bladder. Then it goes away for the
second trimester and returns in the third.
Unless you're lucky like me and you get
to have frequent peeing the entire 9
months. There is nothing like getting up
5 or 6 times a night to pee.

I had alot of creamy discharge at the
beginning of my pregnancy. I still get
it sometimes too. So you might just be
pregnant! Everyone lady is different when
it comes to symptoms. Hope you are!!

yeah and at 24 weeks im still not peeing
at night ....Everyone is really different.
But your missing the point about the
discharge...I simply said "it is not a
symptom of pregnancy" and yes some women
do normally have an abudant of discharge
throughout thier regular cycle. Its just
like checking your cervix for
pregnancy...It is not reliable and should
not be a guide to predict pregnancy. If I
would be 2 weeks late for my period and go
to my dr and say "i think im pregnant
because im late and I had discharge" he
would not only say that the discharge does
not mean pregnancy but the late period
does!
