Such a Klutz! Posted: 08-02-06 19:09pm
My appointment went pretty well today. My
cervix is still way back, but i'm dilated
2 centimeters, 70% effaced and the baby is
at -2 station. If I don't go into labor
naturally before .Tuesday, they're going
to induce me.
So anyway, I checked the mail when we got
home from the appointment and tripped on
the way back from the mailbox. I was
wearing flip-flops and fell down and
twisted my ankle pretty badly, and I felt
something "pop". It was swelling for a
while, but the swelling came down with
ice. I can still put weight on it, just
not comfortably. I really don't think I
broke it, and i'd rather not sit in an er
waiting room for a few hours if I can help
it at all. We're going to see how it
feels in the morning and make a decision
there. I really hope I just sprained
it.
I hate being clumsy! :(

I dont think its broken you would be
screaming for the pain and know that its
broken but you def. Did twist it! It
happened to me last year and it didnt
swell much for very long but it took
months for my ankle to feel normla
again...They dont heal as quickly as other
parts because we are constantly putting
weight and pressure on it...I think you
should bandage it up and avoid putting to
much weight for a few days.

It's much better this morning. There's
some bruising on the side where my foot
turned inward and it's slightly swollen,
but the pain is *much* less. It doesn't
hurt at all now unless I put weight on it,
and then it's only mild/moderate pain.
It's definitely sprained though. I'm
trying to keep it elevated as much as
possible and I have an ace wrap on it.
My husband says i'm not allowed to check
the mail anymore. :(
