Me and my husband did that, but some of my family memeber have said to me to have a separate account and that he doesn't even has to know but I don't think it's a good idea at all,i respect my husband and I don't want secrets like that in our marriage. But is it a good idea ton only have one account together?

I would have a separate account.............But if you wanna have an account with your hubby that's your business. :)

I dont and I a married wise lady told me" dont put all your eggs in one basket!" you can keep your acct and he can keep his..You both can place money in a household acct to take care of your bills and things..Sometimes we women have a tentency to save money more than men an just in case he doesnt tell you he withdrew money or lost a recpt, you wont have cks bouncing all over the place..Might want to consider this one..There is nothing wrong with it..It has been working for me for years and I would change it for the world..And just in case things dont work out he cant clean you out..I work for a bank and ive seen it before when the man has cleaned the women out and she was left high and dry with more debt than she had before they got married... :?:

Wow
Thanks fox lady for answering all my topics ... Well I don't think my husband would do such a thing..And another thing is that I don't work right now,i'm a student so I strictly depend on him. But I will defenetly work when I finish my studies, or maybe even a part-time job while studyig..But before getting married we agreed in not to have separate accounts...I guess I just hope it works,i really don't mind sharing the little I have with him and he's been paying for everyone of my needs..

I am happy for you..Whatever works..I worked and went to school and it was hard and tough especially when you have children..Once I finished I was very happy..And there is nothing wrong w having a part time job..Especially when these gas prices are as high as they are..Good luck to you and your family...

When my hubby and I first moved in together we set up an account in both our names a put a certain amount into in each week but we also had seperate accounts. Just before or just afer (not too sure) we got married all our money went into the same acount and from there some went in a savings account and a little bit to our own accounts so we could do what we wanted with that (it was only $50 - $100). This way works fine for us as my hubby has nothing to do with bills etc at all, he is hopeless with money so it works really well. If he wants something he just asks if there is enough money in there. Alot of women say you should have a 'back up account' in case he ever does a runner but I was always to lazy to do that, but it probably wouldn't be a bad idea, then the money is there if you ever need it and not only if your "hubby does a runner" but for whatever reason.
