Hello,
i have been on the ring for 2 months now, but I was wondering if anyone can help me with this..I took the ring out, since its the week that I should be getting my period, but I had unprotected sex 2 days after I removed it and my period hasnt started..Is it ok, since i'm suppose to be on my period.. I also notice that I have gained weight in the past 2 months and I sometimes get soreness of breasts and headaches and I dont know if its symptoms of pregnancy or just side effects of the ring....I need all the input I can get..Thanks :?

Well the only advice that I can give you is get a hpt and take it.. That is the only way that you will know if you are pregnant or not. Or go to your doctors so that they can check you and do a blood test on you to be sure.. Good luck hun

I was on the nuva ring and I had sex while the ring was out and never got pregnant. I didn't get pregnant until I left the ring out for a month straight. Sometimes I missed a period while on the ring. I would take it out and never get a period and then put a new one in. I think it's a side effect of the ring.

it shouldn't matter that u took it out as long as it was the week u were supposed to and as long as u put it back in when u r supposed to. It usually takes me about 4 days after removing the ring to actually get my period and then it only last about 2 days. And I have gained 10 pounds in 6 months since starting the ring.

The nuva ring has really good reports.
You can if you wish remove it for upto 2 hours during sex - just remember to put it back again afterwards.
It is also fine to leave it in during sex.
It is fine to have sex during your ring free week - that's the same as your pill free week on the pill.

If you read the leaflet that comes with your birth control - you will find that it tells you commons side effects.
This will include tender breasts and headaches for *most* hormnal birth control.
Often you will find these symptoms ease off after the third month as your system gets used to the extra hormones.

Also - moving this to the birth control forum!
