Is extreme weakness a symptom of depression? My legs feel like jello. The dr is doing many tests to rule out any other problems, but feels depression is the cause.

Yes, extreme weakness can be a symptom of depression. During depression, however, weakness is caused not by a muscle or nerve disorder but by a lack of will. You should also keep in mind that you are very much over the ideal weight for a woman of your age; the legs may be overburdened to carry such a weight.
