I have had pain/soreness in the area of my
right testicle for approximately four
months now. I had the same symptoms about
a year ago and they went away after about
two to three months.
I have seen a doctor twice (internal
medicine) who has very thoroughly ruled
out hernia and testicular cancer. His
advice is that I have strained something
and just have to rest it and wait for it
to heal. It has been long enough that I
want to see if I should be seeing a
specialist or getting a second opinion, or
if this is a typical injury and I just
need to be less active until it heals.
If it were not for seeing him, all of the
reading I have done would have made me
guess that I had a minor hernia (albeit
with no bulges).
At least three days a week I have had
soreness which I can best localize as
being along the base of my scrotum on the
right side. Nothing that I would describe
as actual pain, but occasionally sort of a
pinching feeling. When particularly bad,
my entire groin area becomes tender.
Right testicle has the sensation of being
slightly swollen, but it it not visibly
so.
The problem typically seems to be
exacerbated by excercise involving
squatting or lifting motions. Squatting
for any length of time is the only way I
can reliably cause it. Sexual activity
sometimes causes it to flare up, other
times no effect. The area is sometimes
sore for no apparent reason.
No problem when I sneeze while lying flat
on back (which I understand has some
significance re hernia).
Everything down there works just fine, it
just gets sore.
