When you start to loose your plug will you go into labor soon? I've been having light contractions. I'm 37 1/2 weeks. No dilation dr checked but I had some light bleeding after she checked my cirvix.

It depends. One of my friends had her baby the day after she lost hers and another friend had her baby 2 weeks after she lost hers! You just never really know for sure!

Losing your mucous plug is not an effective barometer of when labor will begin. Nor is dilation. Or effacement.

When you had some bleeding after the doctor checked you, that is completely normal since she probably felt your cervix up ;) your mucous plug will be more like snot, but kind of with tinges of blood.

Good luck!!
