Q: Bladder Problems

Usually I have a really good bladder and I rarely have to go to the bathroom (maybe 2-5 times a day depending on how much I drink)

recently I feel like I have to go to the bathroom all the time, even if I just went about 5 minutes ago (and completely emptied my bladder)

what could possibly be going on? It worries me

Well,it cud b a few things I guess like:
a) is there a chance u r pregnant? Pregnant women go to the toilet more frequently due to pressure on their bladder,
b) have u increased ur intake of liquids?
C) u cud have an infection such as a water infection or cystitis which causes people 2 urinate more,u may also feel some pain when u pee.
I'd go to the docs if ur worried because a water infection is easily treated with anti biotics-dont stress cos lots of women have these.
Best wishes
liz

I doubt she is pregnant, she didn't mention it and normally you don't start running to the bathroom frequently until your belly is really big and the baby is pressing down on your bladder. I am curious - what is a water infection?

Actually saribellum-when you get pregnant your body is moving to make room for a baby and yes, it does cause frequent peeing. But more frequent when the baby is bigger. It was a suggestion, and unless you have the right answer, dont try to correct liz.

I think ya'll are being a little harsh - I read saribellum's post and it didn't sound like he/she was trying to correct sparkly. I read it and took it as simply stating a fact. I think ya'll are being bullies.

Hi Floridagirl!
I am in orlando too - small world. Don't worry about those two - I don't care what they say. I didn't try to correct her I was just making an observation just like you said. They obviously misinterpreted what I wrote. That's ok though - if I spent all my waking hours on here doing nothing but responding to every single message I came across (see how many posts they each have???) whether I knew what I was talking about or not, I would probably misread some posts too. And my fingers would probably get tired of typing too and i'd have to shorten words like "people" and "could" and "your" because the strain of actually typing the full word out would be too great on my little fingers. Its all good though.

Bladder Problems
Hi
one of the first signs of pregnancy is frequent urination, and this is clear. However, there are other reasons for this, too,so always check with doctor.

One cause of frequent urination is a urinary tract infection. They are pretty common. Generally, you will feel that you have to pee, like your bladder's full, but when you go, hardly anything comes out. It might also burn. You can go to your doctor to get medication to fix this problem. Kidney infections and bladder infections can also cause frequent urination.

There are a few other causes of frequent urination, besides urinary tract infections and pregnancy.

Diabetes is one of them (which might also be accompanied by other symptoms such as weight loss, gain, thirst, dry skin, sweet smelling breath).

The other is an enlarged uterus - which could be caused by benign fibroid tumors pressing on the bladder or adenomyosis which can cause the uterus to grow to two or three times its normal pre-pregnancy size.

Bladder infection, however, is the most common cause and should be treated right away to keep it from spreading and from having any more discomfort than you need.

Take care.

Frequent urination can also be caused by a prolapsed bladder or uterus. One sign of this is if you have a dragging feeling in your stomach or feel like you can not completly discharge. If this is still going on you may want to ask about this
