Hello everyone. About three years I began having rectal bleeding, thinking nothing of it, I assumed it was hemroids. Some time went by, enough to where I had forgotten about the occassion and then it happened again. The second time I finally realized it was coming from my rectum and began to worry. The third occassion worried me the most; I had went to the bathroom early in the morning (as always) and had a bowel movement. In the toliet was a mixture of blood and stool, but more blood, and this clear mucus with a pinkish tint. Wondering what it was I was curious because I never had seen anything like this before, I got a little bit on the toliet paper and tried to make out what it was. It had these little raised white bumps on it, even if you turned the toliet paper to the side to look at it you could easily tell the bumps were raised.

These are but a few rectal incidents that have ocurred with me, and i'm a mother of 2 and a loving wife/grandmother and in desperate need of some advice or support as to know what this may be. If anyone could please respond to me asap I would greatly appreciate it.

Better 2 B Safe Than Sorry!
Hi, please call your primary care physican and have him/her make a referreal to a gastro Dr. Anytime there is bright red blood/mucous, you should have this checked. You did say this has been going on for some time. You have children and grandchildren to live for, so take yourself to the doctor and have this situation looked into before it gets any worse. My father just passed away 4 months ago from colon cancer.I too am 49, and just recently had my first colonoscopy! I went through almost the same thing you are. Mine turned out to be nothing but a tear. I am good to go. If for nothing else, go for your peace of mind. Its best to catch anything early, than to delay and worry and allow things to get worse!

Thank you very much. Do you think these symptoms maybe be associated with colon cancer?

Hey Girl
I have no idea the symptoms of colon cancer, I do know blood coming from your "butt" isn't a good thing...It could very well be an internal hemm. Or it could be a number of things. I had no intentions on upsetting you or implying the big "c". I had pain going and bleeding.......Severe pain and lots of blood. I do not recall any mucous. Pm me if you'd like!

Symptoms
Have you seen a Dr. Yet or made a appt.?
If you feel as though you need to go to a er during these times then by all means "go".
But blood in stool can be so many dif things and we are all afraid of the big c, but there are so many things that could be wrong and prob most or all of them need treated 1 way or another. Hope fully you will find out it is something that can be taken care of easily. So take a deep breath and call the Dr.
Jeannie
