An orthopedic factory( hospital) in chennai has launched a novel unethical marketing strategy. Instead of thriving on word of mouth, they have sent out an army of "marketing executives" to corner all physiotherapists and general practitioners in the city of chennai.
The executive accosts the physio and offers him a commission of 10 percent on every surgery performed on a patient referred by him. Innocent physios are taken aback when the executive says" how come you were left out and why have'nt you referred any cases?" as if the physio was bound to refer all his cases to this institution only for surgery.
The chief of this hospital is an out standing surgeon( he stands out of the operation theatre) while the surgery is performed by unqualified doctors and quacks.
Earlier they had already covered all the general practitioners in the nook and corner of the city with the same strategy but now they are attempting to spread their net wider.
Not that the results are something to boast off. Every knee joint that is promised to provide high flexion does not do so and offers a meagre 90 degrees. Many are infected by low or high grade organisms.
Our people not being legally inclined due to the non fnunctional judiciary are apathetic to the hospital which maims people. Yes why should they not be compared with the doctors in up who were cutting off beggars limbs?
Has any one demanded to know the qualifications of the surgeon who performs joint replacements at this institute? He is just an ordinary mbbs.
How can he analyse complexities of orthopedic surgery and the inherent complications caused by his malpractices?
