Alright I have to fess up here. Well , I know how terrible smoking is during ur pregnancy and all but I stopped today for a whole day fromthe time I woke up I did not smoke and I will not either!!! I am probably close to 3 months but not sure I see the doc for the 1st time on jan 27th. I feel real guilty. I am only 20 but started smoking at like 12. I know this baby is a blessing. I want to have a healthy baby. And now I need to stop being so selfish. I read on many websites that if u stop before ur 4th month, ur chances of having a low birth weight baby ect.... Drop dramatically. I really need all of your support so please stay on my a s s lol! I wont give up either. 2morrow is day 2 . They say after 3 days the cravings are all gone and that its all in ur head from there. Talk to u all soon. ~ erica.

Smoking
I quit smoking when I found out I was pregnant. I smoked one right after I found out the test was positive but threw the rest out and havent picked one up since. It was unbearably hard seeing that I live with smokers, so I resulted in locking myself up in my room all day and bringing everything edible from the kitchen with me lol. But food and sleep and your growing belly will keep your mind off picking up another one of those things! Just dont think about it and try to keep distance from people when they smoke. The cravings dont last that long!!

Couldn't you just ask everyone that smokes to do it outside. There is a thing you could buy that sucks the smkoe out of a room like a purifier or something. You could put one in a room and make them smoke in there...

What about suckers? Ive tried gum but I still find it hard. Is it better to cut down so the cravings arent so bad or better to just quit cold turkey??

Babyrae, yes cutting down is best normally. But since your pregnant cold turkey is the best way. The first 3 months are crucial to your baby's development!
