Q: Heartburn Side Effects Or Angina?

Lately I have been having quite a bit of heartburn. If that wasn't enough to deal with, today I felt like I was having one of those gas pains in my chest. You know the one where it feels like there is an air bubble stuck behind the sternum? I wouldn't have been concerned but I also started having pain radiate up my neck to my jaw. The pain has finally subsided in my chest but still feels a little tight at the top and some residual pain still exists in my neck and jaw.

Can acid reflux cause these symptoms? Or is there something else that I need to be concerned about.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

(oh, guess I should give you some medical background. I am a 40 year old woman, with no prior history of heart problems. I do smoke and I am about 25 lbs overweight.)
