:( I have been waiting for this for a while, and over the past 3 months my dentist has pulled all of my top teeth in the back, and I have an appt. In two weeks for the rest to be extracted and to receive my denture. I am very scared and nervous, I can't wait to be able to smile like I used to. But I don't know what to expect with the "denture", I could use all of the advise I can get. They have to be better than what I am going through now, did I mention I am also single, and hope that this won't destroy my love life forever...Thanks again for the help ~lisa~

Hi, I believe that as long as your mouth always appears clean and you do not have bad breath your love life will not suffer. As we all get older, teeth deteriorate, and no one is inmune to age! Avoid excessive saliva hanging from the corner of your mouth, and food stuck in your teeth. Follow these rules and your love life should be ok. Hope I was helpful.

Hi
i am a young denture wearer to and have full dentures I got them when I was 18 due to a genetic weakness. I love my dentures which I have had for a while now. They felt big in my mouth but after a while having them in 24/7 except for cleaning I got used to them and now I can taqlk and eat whatever I want. Bad breath will, if you do not have any problems with your stomach, come from food deposites under the dentures or if you have not cleaned the dentures. If you clean your dentures with fluor paste that also kills bacteria at least two times a day for ex. Morning and evening you should be safe. Be open with your dentures and tell in forhand your date that you have dentures. Of course not the first date but when you have a relationship that make you kiss. I have been open with it and have not got aanything other than understanding and acceptance. Some have even been very interested and have even asked to look at them. Dentures is not the end of the world, on the contrary.
Good luck and know that the upstart can be difficultbut go to the dentist every time you get a sore spot to let him agjust them. It is very done very fast and you have a better life.
Good luck

Re I Am 26 And Will Be Getting Top Dentures Soon...help!!??!
Hi,

well i'm in my 30's and a few years ago had a bike accident several years ago and lost one front tooth and another was straightend and "saved" I also had a missing one in the side from childhood. A couple of years went by and then I lost that one too. So I had a stark choice live with a hugh gap or have an upper denture. I put it off for a while before getting the denture fitted. Imediately even though I hated wearing it it was nice not to have a gap and look attractive again. I got used to it quicker than I thought. The worse part was learning to speak properly again. Now I don't even think about it and draw some pleasure from the fact that I can't burn the top of my mouth like other people can.

I assume you must have it by now? Let us know how are you are getting on?

Laura
