Hi everyone. Im posting this here b/c ppl in teh teen pregnancy forem are locking my topics b/c im new and they think cuz im new theyre better than me.

Anyway heres my problem. I was real frustrated and cranky when I came home from work a few days ago. I was real worn out from work and cuz my baby kept me awake all nite. Well he started cryin nonstop as soon as I got home and I did everything I could to make him stop. I changed him and fed him and rocked him...But nuthin worked.

Finally I jus shook him, but not real hard. Now he doesnt cry anymore, not even wen hes hungry or needs a clean diapper. U think I mite have made him lose his voice or sumthin?

I would really apreciate if 1. This topic wasnt locked cuz im asking a honest questin and im seriously wondering bout this, and 2. If anyone culd offer me any addvice.

Dont get me wrong im not complaining bout this - ever since alliance stoped cryin I been sleepin all nite and doin better at work and every1 notices im just overall in better spirits lol.

Your baby has brain damage you stupid fool. You should not be having children if you cannot take care of them properly. If he is not crying and sleeping excessively you have obviously damaged your child. You make me sick. I hope someone beats your a$$.

Well thats exactly why im not taking him to any doctor...I dont want to lose my baby because of one little misstake I made. Besides my babys perfectly normal except for the no crying and the more sleeping. And like I said it was an accident what I did and I think its excusable if I dont do it again.

I don't think this girl is for real; she's just trying to get an argument going.

Ok then... Allie_18 and nataliachick7 I totally agree with what your are saying, but I think that your being rather discourteous and stringent. She shouldn't have shook her baby, like she did, even if it was vigorously or gently, on the other hand new mothers can suffer from stress and deprived sleep which can make the mother cranky. However I am quite concerend for your baby, I do reccomend taking your baby to your local clinic or hospital, I know you're worried of having social services taking your baby away from you, also if they do ask some questions about your baby do not lie (it could make your situation a lot worse) and do not assume that they will be taking your baby away because they are asking questions, it is compulsory that they ask questions if they feel that the baby is in harms way or whenever a baby is injured in anyway, phsically or mentally. Believe me it will be in your babies interest and yours to see a doctor, the longer you leave it, there will be a greater chance of worsening your babies problems. Write to tell us how it goes!

im sorry, but I do not agree with this statement! Men say that after they raped little girls, they then go on to become serial rapists or killers, I know its a little drastic but im trying to prove a point!

im being discorteous and stringent....You are ignorant! You are damn right new mothers can suffer from stress and deprived sleep. I am one of them! I have a colicky baby that cries all the time. That is no excuse to harm your baby! I would never do that to my son! If you are goinjg to become a mother you need to have patience. What do you expect when you are having a baby? That they wont cry? That it will be stress free? Yeah right! This girl is not fit to be a parent and she needs to close her legs or become sterilized. This is not just some little "mistake", this is shaking a baby! Do you realize that can lead to severe brain damage and death?! I hope she gets her child taken away.

That is if this is even real, which I am suspecting it is not.

Sorry they arent being rude in any way....

Shaking a baby is the equivalent of abuse it is done out of frustration/anger which can be controlled, f*ck I have two kids up at night and I dont shake either of them...

Get a doing it parenting course since you have no clue what your doing or give the baby up for adoption, what you did is wrong hear me wrong...

Babys/kids scream/cry get used to it you had sex carried the pregnancy to term now do your job as a mother not only did you do abuse now your neglecting your childs health care. So your kid stopped crying wow maybe he already has brain damage have you ever thought that you just ruined your childs life of being normal?

Think long and hard kid your not a mother till you learn patience and provide a safe environment

You admitted being wrong and that is a good point. With shaking baby syndrome, their could be alot of damage and whether you have insurance or not which you probably do however at this point it does not really matter. I am not here to judge you as you said what you did was wrong and what the out come is, no one knows, the main thing is is that this baby needs professional medical attention and you should not wait, something like this needs to be checked into as soon as possible and if you love this little baby(which I am sure you do) you will do the right thing! Sleeping longer and not crying is not a good sign. Please take this baby to er and tell them what happened so that they can do the necessary tests and get the right medical attention! By the way how old are you and this baby(not that it relly matters about your age)?

I mis-read the second part of your post the 1st time around as I thought you said that you were going to take the baby to the Dr. This is no-way about you, it is about your baby. Don't you care about your baby, what if your mother did this to you or one of your friends did it to her kid. You know what you are doing is not the right thing to do even though it was an accident. I am not a Dr.But do this baby a favor if you really love the baby. Take this poor baby to the hospital or drop it off with a note, this baby it pretty much sounds like it needs medical attention. Please, do the right thing, the longer you wait, the baby could possibly get worse and like I said earlier I am not a Dr., just someone that cares about your baby. If you really love this baby, you will take it to er and tell then everything.

Im sorry I wasnt meaning to be ignorant, I did also say a lot of points against her, I think shanking her baby is really wrong! It is probably not my place to even be in here as I am only fifteen year of age, the closest I have to a little baby is family and familys friends babies! I was just trying to help, sorry, I was basing my answers on books I have read and programmes that I have watched and my own knowledge. I know my words may have sounded ignorant, they weren't intended in that way!Sorry again, do you forgive me?????

Just a story that I know about shaken baby syndrome:

a young mother from around here recently was in the news because she shook her baby one night when it wouldn't stop crying, and her boyfriend was coming over so she wanted some alone time with him. She went on for days and days without the baby crying... And it would sleep the majority of the day... Well her boyfriend (who wasn't present at the time of the shaking) thought that something was wrong with the baby boy... So he took it to the er without the mothers consent and told the doctors what he knew.... Police were contacted and the mother eventually told them that she shook the baby. She is now in jail for homicide because well..... The baby's spine dislocated from the brain... And it ended up dieing. Just a warning, that if this persons story is actually true... That someone needs to do something about it... Find out where she lives, or something and get that baby some help, as it can't do that itself.

It is a joke indeed...You guys can thank my roommate's dumb*ss friend for this not-so-hilarious b/s tale he decided to weave out of boredom. This is the last time I let that kid use my computer.
