Q: I Should Be Entitled to Health Insurance

When I was young I was misdiagnosed with add and prescribed a daily dose of prozac which pretty much turned me into a veggie. Because of this I had to attend "special" classes and missed out on a real education. I'm very intelligent so you might imagine how frustrated and left behind I feel. I as well as many others are sure what I have is asperger's syndrome but I don't have health insurance to see a doctor to make an official diagnosis. If I really do have a disability as bad as they said I did, I should be entitled to some kind of health insurance. You can just label someone mentally challenged and leave it at that. I played their game and got nothing out of it. It ruined my life. Can anyone help me?

Less Expensive Than Insurance, & You Can't Be Turned Dow
By now I hope you've found health coverage. If not, check out the discount health plan I use. It is not insurance. They pay nothing. But, you get discounts whenever you go to the doctor, dentist, eye doctor, rx, hospital, etc. The discounts are between 20% - 80% (sometimes more). It cost less than $50/mo! I Feel Your Pain
I also was diagnosed with a.D.D. It is horrible thing to label a child with such labels. I was also put in special classes and looked over by the system. I slipped in to the cracks.
As for asburgers my cousin was diagnosed with it. If you have been diagnosed with these you probably qualify for some sort of gov. Aid. I would look in to that.

I would checkout http://needhealthbenefits.Onesimplecard.Co m and look into getting some type of medical benefits. I use them and nothing is over $60.00 a month and thats for an entire household. Its even cheaper signing up as an indivdual.

You get a huge discount on all this:

dr. Appt visits, lab work, ect..

Dental - saves you up to 80% on your dental!!

Vision
prescription
chiropractic care

all for under $60.00 a month!!

I hope this helps Smile

Just because you were born with a disability doesn't mean that you are entiled to health insurance benefits. Unfortunately you would either have to qualify for medicaid based on your financial situation, get a job that offers health insurance, or find some individual coverage from an insurance agent. Unfortunately, your condition may disqualify you for insurance with some providers. It depends on your state and condition. You can always get a job with benefits though.

How About This?
Another solution is to see if you can get health coverage under a group health plan (through your company or you family's company) since with group insurance, it doesn't matter what medical condition you have (even cancer) you are guaranteed coverage.

You can also try cobra or HIPAA plans if your company covers it.

Hope this helps
