Wait..Did you just said that your doc has prescribed you antibiotics for shingles...Well shingles is a viral disease caused herpes zoster..The virus causing chicken pox...He shouldn't prescribe you antibiotics because it's not a disease caused by bacteria

Right!

He should have also prescribed an antiviral drug like valtrex, zovirax, or other anti viral med.

Although antibiotics are prescribed for certian people with shingles, it should not be the 'only' drug used.
