I applied for fmla at work but was denied. They think i'm just taking off work to have fun. It's really stressin me out because they think i'm lying to them and they said I look fine. I was diagnosed 2yrs ago. I have sle and lupus nephritis with rheumatoid arthritis, hypertension. I would have flare ups every now and then. With pain and fatigue, sometimes it's really hard to make it to work :( should I appeal my fmla? My condition is chronic and lupus can flare up anytime. Please help me guys..I don't know what to do anymore :(

Fmla Denied
I didn't think a company could deny fmla. If you have your doctors support, I would think the hr department of your company would have to grant you the time off. I thought fmla was a federal law and compliance with it was required nation wide. Definitely appeal that decision.

Also, lupus is a disability (ada) and examples of job accomodations are posted on the web. They include flexable work times, etc.

Good luck to you, I hope you get the time off you need.
