Horrible Back Pain

I've been having lower back pain off and on each day for the last trimester or so. No biggie... Heating pad works wonders for it. But yesterday evening I started to get a dull ache between my shoulder blades that seemed to radiate upwards towards my neck and down into the middle of my back. I woke up around 4 this morning unable to sleep because I was so uncomfortable. Sleeping on my side is impossible, because it feels like the weight of my body is crushing whatever shoulder i'm putting pressure on. Swapping sides does the same thing. I tried sleeping on my back, but that did absolutely nothing for the pain. My trusty heating pad is only succeeding in making me sweat, and a hot bath did zilch. My husband's off to work until 4 this afternoon, so I can't sweet-talk him into a massage (though I strongly considered waking him up this morning for one).

Augh, what do I do? My upper back and neck are aching so badly now, and I really don't want to take pain medication. I'm so miserable... :(
