I just noticed now that I am having spotting. I am on birth control, and have been for almost 9 months. I haven't missed a single pill this month, and have taken all pills at the same time. I am on ortho tri cyclen, and have never before had this issue unless if I missed a pill. I am a bit worried, and don't know why I would be spotting all of a sudden....I have never had this before...

Help..??

Thanks

You can develope spotting if you miss a pill , if you stop taking the pill altogether mid cycle you will get a mini period. You would know if you had missed a pill tho, if it's worrying you that much see your gp or clinic especially if it happens again.

Extremely eHealthy
Have you taken any herbal supplements like saint johns wort? Have you taken antibiotics? These lower the effectiveness of brith control.

Sometimes spotting just happens for no good reason, yes it is very annoying, but as long as it does not last too long then everything should be fine.

If it lasts, or you get worried, def talk toy our doc.

Thanks for your help :)

so the spotting was on thursday night.....Well the week before that, I was on antibiotics, but only from about monday-wednesday for a slight uti, but I think the antibiotics stay in your system for a while (not totally sure). But I just thought if it was from that, then it would have happened sooner then thursday.

Anyways, it went away the next day :) I am happy it didn't stick around for long...

I just got a bit worried, because on the wednesday of the last day I was on antibiotics, me and my boyfriend had sex without a back up, and he finished in me...And I completely forgot that I was on the antibiotics...And then I have heard that 7-14 days after an embryo is formed, you can spot a bit when the implantation takes place or something along those lines...So I really really hope that is not what it is, I am only 17 lol a baby is the last thing I need right now...

I guess it was probably really stupid of me to do that in the first place.

Thanks for your help though, I am sure everything will be just fine.
