Q: Pregnancy Help...implantation Bleeding? Very Nervous...

Hi I am somewhat new here. I am very nervous that my girlfriend might be pregnant. Her last period started june 28th and lasted until about july 3rd. Her cycle is a little bit inconsistent and can be early or late. We had sex on july 6th and the condom broke. I never ejaculated, the only possible thing that could have happened was a little bit of precum, but I pulled out as soon as I heard it break, so it was only in there for less than a second. The condom also had spermicide on it, so I think that that would have disabled the sperm in the precum anyway. We wern't to nervous about it at the time because it was only in for a second, I didn't ejaculate, the spermicide, and it was to early for her to be fertile. She hasn't really had the symptoms of pregnancy except she had a couple of headaches in the past week and she thinks she might have had to go to the bathroom a little more than usual...I think she is just jumping to conclusions though. Anyway today is the 28th day and she experienced a little bit of spotting. The past two days she has done a vollyball camp and has had strenuous physical activity. I am worried about the light spotting and am very scared that she may be pregnant...Even though I doubt it because everything seems to be pointing against it besides the spotting....I know that you can only become pregnant during your fertile period and I am almost positive that she wasn't fertile at the time, I have also read that pregnancy occurs about 20% of the time for people who are trying to get pregnant in a certain month, and apparently precum can get a girl pregnant but the chances are low. Please help and tell me what the spotting could be, and also how effective the spermicide would be in killing the precum sperm. Thank you.

I also forgot to add that she said like she could tell her period was coming shortly a couple days ago, and the past couple of days she said that she thought she got her period in the morning but when she checked nothing was there.

She said that she has never had pre menstrual spotting before. I really hope that thats all it is. Can I please have some responses to answer more of my questions please?

Have her take a pregnancy test. No one here will be able to tell you one way or the other if she is pregnant. Either she starts her period or she takes a pregnancy test. Those will both definitely tell you.

Even with birth control, there is always the risk of pregnancy.

Good luck!

I don't think she would have been ovulating 3 days after her period ended. If her period hasn't started in a few days (did you say it's late?) have her take a test. I'd say the chances are extremely low though. Maybe she should get on the pill so you can double up on protection from now on.

We don't need to go on birth control because we probably arn't going to do anything involving sex for a while. I don't think she is pregnant...But I am very nervous anyway. She has been exercising the past two days a lot more than usual. Can this delay her period or cause spotting? Also would the spermicide on the condom kill the sperm in the precum? Thank you...

Fine, I won't hold back.

If you're going to get this worked up about a possible pregnancy then maybe you shouldn't be having sex in the first place. If you're adult enough to engage in sex, you need to be adult enough to deal with the possible consequences.

We're not doctors. Nobody else is responding because they're all going to say the same thing I already told you. If she's late have her take a test. That's the best we can tell you.
