I'm leaking! Ew. I honestly had no idea this would happen until like relatively closer to when you were having the baby. I'm not even at the half way mark. The thing is only my left nipple is leaking. Leaky lefty... Anyways... Does this at all show that my left boobie is going to be making more milk when the time comes? It is a little bigger come to think of it! What could only one leaking mean??

Leaking breasts are normal during pregnancy and after child birth. Get some breast pads and wear them - especially when you have a shirt the wet spot might be more noticeable on!

One leaking means that is the one leaking. ;) the other one will probably leak too if you squeeze it.

That didnt happened to me until later on, usually in the shower lol. Im still breastfeeding lucas. One is usually bigger than the other cos one is fuller. Your supposed to use one breast at a feeding time, not both.

I started leaking at about 24 weeks preggy. So it's totally normal!! Your body is just preparing itself for what's to come!!

If you breastfeed, your left boob will probably be the boob you'll feed the baby off of more, because it'll probably end up producing more milk.

The leaking, they have nursing pads that worked really good for me, they have a sticky side on the back that you can stick on your bra and they are disposable, you can also buy ones that are washable.

Haha wait until after you have the baby, you'll be flowing milk like a river.

"your supposed to use one breast at a feeding time, not both."

umm no actually youre supposed to switch breasts every 10 minutes, to keep the milk production steady on both sides and to prevent sore nipples. This came straight from the lactation consultant at the hospital.

you are very right, that's pretty funny allie says that considering she is supposed to be breastfeeding herself.

well ive been breastfeeding my son for 4 months. When I gave birth, a midwife/nurse who specialises in helping mothers breastfeed came to give me some tips, she said feed from 1 breast at one feeding time, that way the other one will be filling up with milk, so the next feeding time you switch over to the one which is by now very full. Its worked perfectly for me! If you feed from both like you said, neither one gets chance to fill up to the max...Duh. Maybe different hospitals give different advice on that but what you said really doesnt make sense since neither get chance to get really full, I dont know, but its worked great for me. The worst part is when they get too full like at night if he sleeps longer than usual and doesnt need feeding, they get so full it hurts! Lol glad im giving my son the best though =)

the best tip I can give anyone planning on breastfeeding...Is put vaseline on your nipples before .A.N.D after .E.V.E.R.Y feed, so they dont become sore. Its really good, they dont get cracked or bleed or anything, no pain when the baby sucks.

Nataliachick7 that advice you got sounds like its meant for women who dont produce enough milk. Then yeh you would need to switch breasts during each feed since you dont produce enough to satisfy the baby with just one. I dont have that problem.

I got the same advice as natalie. But I was also prone to getting mastitis. Ugh! That is not fun.

I was told from la leche league woman to breatsfeed for 10 minutes on one and finish the feeding on the other.

Leaking is normal early on. I haven't leaked yet in this pregnancy but with my last one I started at 20 weeks.

Well allie, apparently everyone is getting the same advice I am. The reason you swtich off is so your boobs dont end up hurting like you said yours do at night when your son doesnt eat and they get to full. You are not too bright.

That was uncalled for. She said she was doing what she was told to do. Relax.

Theres no need to get nasty about it natalia you have an attitude problem lol! Maybe the advice is different in the uk? Like I said, I dont know. But the advice I was given is working great for me, my health visitor is surprised im still breastfeeding, apparantly not many teen mothers do, or they will only for the first 4-6 weeks, whereas ive been doing it 4 months so far. Shes asked me to go along to a teen parenting session at the clinic to talk about breastfeeding and help out with questions pregnant teens have about it, and hopefully encourage it....Yeh I must be dumb lmao

i didnt say it hurts every night, I said if my son sleeps for longer than usual, which is common sense. If you breastfeed every 4 hours then sometimes your baby sleeps for say 7 hours, then your breasts are going to be very full, making them sore.

"nataliachick7 that advice you got sounds like its meant for women who dont produce enough milk. Then yeh you would need to switch breasts during each feed since you dont produce enough to satisfy the baby with just one. I dont have that problem."

ok what doesnt make sense there? If you dont produce enough milk, which a lot of women have problems with, if you didnt know. Then obviously the baby needs milk from both breasts to be satisfied. You arent too bright yourself! You need to take ingi's advice, relax and take a chill pill...Wow

lmao

Yep, people need to stop being so dramatic over everything. So I got different advice to her, or had a different experience to hers, so what does it really matter? Looked like she was going to have a heart attack over it.
