Q: Best Ways to Get Pregnant? Help Please

Me and my husband (got married last month, financially stable) are trying to get pregnant. He's in his late twenties and a smoker (about a pack a day). I heard smoking decreases sperm count.

I started ovulating yesterday and we've had sex 3 times a day so far. Does having sex a lot while ovulation increase the chances or decrease the chances of getting pregnant because I heard that you need a day in between for the sperm count to go up or something..Not quite sure.

And right after sex I always get this vaginal discharge which I assume is his semen. Does that affect pregnancy at all? That the stuff always gushes out? Isn't there sperm in there?

I'm just scared to death that i'll never be able to get pregnant..It's always been a fear of mine so I would like to know how to increase my chances.

I would cut back to once a day or once every other day. Also, the semen will always come out since there's nowhere for it to go inside you. The semen is like a protective coating for the sperm, once it's inside you the sperm seperate and go on their merry way and the semen will leak back out. Just be patient and keep trying. I don't think everyone realizes how hard it can be to conceive. It's really not just as easy as having unprotected sex (well, it is but it takes time). Good luck!

Definitely have sex every other day. Try charting your cycle to determine your most fertile days. Sperm can survive in your body for a few days, so it's in your best interest to have sex a few times right before you ovulate as well as during.

Try laying still for a few minutes after sex. His semen will still come out of you, but this might give the little guys more of a chance to get to where they're going, if you catch my drift.

And I know this isn't what you asked to hear, but I wouldn't be worried about smoking affecting his sperm count. I *would* worry about smoking affecting your pregnancy and baby. Secondhand smoke is extremely dangerous. I would urge him to cut back on his smoking and eventually try to quit. His health, yours, and your child's will all benefit from this. Even if he smokes exclusively outside, he should be thinking about the effect his eventual bad health will have on you and your child(ren) in the future. Sorry, just giving my two cents!

Good luck, hon, and happy baby-making! :)

my dh is a smoker and we got pregnant just fine..Get some prenatal pills they help out to...And after doing your thing keep your bottom up in the air for about 30 min so the sperm can move up better.. I wish you and you dh the best and send baby dust your way and as they said have sex every other day and morning time is best since the sperm is more better I read up on it you have a better chance of conceiving.. Good luck
......Baby......Dust...... Your way

Trying to remeber but I think I was told that you should only have sex once a day and more decreases your chances rather than making it higher and have sex a few days before you ovulate as well so there is sperm present when the egg is released. But im on ttc month #8 so I might not know much
