I generally agree with the above list but I would add more of some things like onesies, blankets, sheets, socks and sleepers. Babies tend to vomit, pee and otherwise soil their clothing, if you don't want to spend your life doing laundry it's better to just buy larger quantities of these things. I would also add baby oil, vaseline, a mobile and some toy that does something. Music, lights, vibration. Anything that buys you a moments peace is worth a fortune!!

Yeah I would definately double or even triple that number for onsies atleast or else you'll be doing laundry twice a day.

Are you having a baby shower? If you are having a baby shower, register at babies r us, they give you a list of everything you should need :) that's what I did

By the time we made the big "it's a girl!" announcement, our family and friends flooded our house with pink onesies and pacifiers. Some of them banded together and bought us gift certificates to .Target so that we could get items that we needed. We ended up spending maybe $100 of our own money on things for our baby. *everything* else found its way to us through our loved ones.

My point being... Maybe you should hold off on buying things just yet. You'll have plenty of time later (barring any complications) to shop, and in the meantime, you just might get a good portion of the things you need from family and friends. By the time you're in your 9th month, you'll probably have heard "so what else do you need?" about 80 times.

What I did was I kept a checklist of things a newborn baby would need, and as I received things I would check them off of the list. As the time got closer, I found more and more things were checked off, until we finally had a very small list of essentials that we still needed. It saved a lot of hassle in the long run, and you're going to need all the money you can save when the little one makes his/her appearance.

I think you should definitely register somewhere like .Babies 'r .Us or .Target, sit back and relax. Your family and friends will *want* to buy things for you! Just remember to send them birth announcements with a cute little photo of your baby's adorable face. Good luck hon!

Yeah definately register b/c everytime one of my relatives or friends says, "what would you like me to get you?" I say "i'm registered at babies r us" :)
