Q: Can I take EC (Emergency Contraception) 6 weeks after an Abo
asked by: DoctorQuestion on July 24th, 2006
I have had an abortion at the six week two weeks ago..Everything went ok. I had little bleeding for a few days and then after about 5 days it came back and lasted for another few days...For a week I had no signs of bleeding. Went to the doctor for examination. Everything was fine. Yesterday I had sexual itercourse and we had an accident with a condom, so today I wanted to take plan b pills but realized that I had bleeding again :( .I don't know whether that's my period or it is still bleeding from abortion I had..I think it is too eatly for my period since only two weeks passed from the time I had the abortion..So should I take plan b or not?

Plan B emergency contraception pills are permitted...but they might not be necessary because you are still bleeding from the uterus. Therefore, pregnancy is almost impossible.
