Rivotril is the commercial name for the medicine. "clonazepam. Clonazepam belongs to the group of medicines called benzodiazepines. Clonazepam is used for treating some types of seizures (epilepsy) and panic disorder. Major side effects of all benzodiazepines are development of chemcial dependence and sedation. Liver damage is important only for patients who have already damaged their livers through other conditions. Clonazepam may not be taken in doses larger than 20mg per day for seizures control and 4mg per day for panic disorder.
