Q: Bleeding During Intercourse

My boyfriend and I tried intercourse against a wall last sunday night. Afterwards and after we moved to the floor, we discovered that I had bled. It started against the wall since we found blood there. We just figured it was due to the position and the roughness. We had sex again last night (friday) and it didn't last that long (he came after, like, 2 minutes!). I went to the bathroom to do the post-sex urination and discovered a little bit of blood. This was, perhaps, our 13th time. Do you think it's just that something tore sunday night and reopened last night? I've tried researching and cervicitis seems to be the most common cause of this. I don't have the time, money or spirit to struggle with insurance to go to the doctor right now, though that's probably the best thing, right? I'm worried that something else might be wrong as well. I donno what, but you never know. My boyfriend just really, really wants me to see a doctor pronto, but I always prefer to wait things out for a little while and see what happens, if things do or do not get better. Anything I could tell him to get him to calm down about my seeing someone? Some dashing statistic to give me a little time?

I am in a similar(ish) position. I had sex for the first time and didn't really bleed at all. The second time (the next day) it was slightly rougher and different positions and I bled quite a lot. Then the third time (about 2 days later) we had fairly gently sex since I was still fairly sore after the last time and I didn't bleed during intercourse but woke up the next day to find a fair amount of blood in my underwear.

I am worried cos I thought virgins should only bleed on the first time, or maybe even second but so far its seemed like its more each time.

Sorry no answers to your query but thought mine was fairly similar to also share with you.

To the original poster: this is more than likely from your boyfriend bumping up against your cervix. Why would you have to fight with your insurance to get a physical/pap smear done? Those are yearly exams that insurances always cover. If you aren't on birth control and would like to be, you can go to planned parenthood and may be able to get the pap test done for free. However, since you are now sexually active, you need to get a test done every year.

To the second poster: you were a virgin and there are no hard and fast rules that apply to bleeding as a virgin. Everyone's body is different. Once your *area* heals, this should clear up on it's own. The same advice applies to you too. You now need to get pap smears every year and get yourself some birth control.

To both of you: make sure your partner always wears a condom regardless of your birth control choices.
