Q: Sharp Pain Near Ovaries

I have experienced a sharp shooting pain in the area of my right ovary. It only happened three times all when I was laying in bed at night. It was very hard to get up to go to the bathroom. Once I made it to the bathroom as I urinated the pain would slowly go away. This morning I am fine. It was very scary. Could this be associated with gas? Bladder? I had a hysterectomy two years ago so, I know its not that. I did keep my ovaries though.

Usually I consider this type of pain ovulation.. Was it two weeks after/two weeks before your period would have been prior to the hysterectomy? It could be gas, or it could be a cyst. I'd get checked out. Ask for an internal ultrasound, or an abdominal ultrasound.

I agree with averiex, I think you might have a water infection.

Go to the doctor.
