You start to feel a crash coming on? My first reaction is to try and get some milk or juice to make the feelings go away but I know that's not the right thing to do. I am scared of passing out so I don't want the feelings to stay. What do you guys do? Sometimes i'll grab a few cherries since they have a very low glycemic index (22) and a few almonds and a string cheese but it seems to take forever for my body to digest and get the glucose levels back up. Man, I am so getting tired of string cheese, almonds and eggs. Seems like that is my basic staple now.
Stan - thanks for all the time you've put into this topic, i've learned a lot from reading all your posts. I have a couple of questions about your diet... You mentioned in your diet that you take 8 tbsp's of olive oil a day. Are you taking swigs from the bottle? Or that's the amount you put on your food? If I could eat bread I would have no problem getting that amount (soaking the bread in olive oil and balsamic vinegar is (was) awesome). Also, when you list the foods for a particular day is it for lunch and dinner and snacks? It seems like the meals you list would only give a person a few hundred calories a day. (i.E. Serving of meat, green salad, cup of green beans, a couple of berries) would this be for lunch and then the same thing for dinner too? If so, that makes sense...
Has anyone looked into acupuncture or chiropractic? Acupuncture is supposed to help diabetics control blood sugar, wonder if it would help with reactive hypo.
