What is thrush and how do you get it because my midwife reckons that I have it? Any opinions will be helpful

Thrush is the same as a yeast infection. An imbalance in your ph levels.

What is she advising you do?

Thrush is a fungal infection, same as yeast. It depends where you have it as to the treatment you get. Babies get thrush in their mouths due to an immature immune system. Most medication for fungal infections end in - statin. (but not all) adults get fungal infectons from taking anti-biotics (anti-biotics kills all the bacteria, even the good ones we need). The term 'thrush' usually refers to the mouth and genital fungal infectons as 'yeast infectons. Also any disease that affects the immune system generally can cause thrush.

Yeast infections/thrush, can blossom whenever there is a major change in your body. Antibiotic use can do it as well.

I only ever had one yeast infection and it was shortly after my daughter was born. Oh it was bad. I sympathize with anyone who has one.

Ohhh yes!! When .Kayoni had thrush, it smelled like she was holding a bread ball in her mouth!! Yuckkk!! I will never forget that!!

I took pics of her thrush to show her when she's older!! Hahaa....And her jaundice. Her eyes were pure yellow where it was supposed to be white! She had a high biliruben count. 19.5!!

We had to put her in the sun. She wasn't pooping either which was causing her levels to increase even more.

So we gave her .Dark .Karo syrup and had to give her a glycerine suppository. Which she loved the suppository because she was sooo clogged up!!

She got soo clogged up because I was told to quit breastfeeding because of her specific case of .Jaundice. She had "breastmilk .Jaundice" the hormones in my breastmilk caused her biliruben levels to increase. Whcich sucked cuz I really wanted to breastfeed! My let down never came because I was constantly on my feet the first week of her life. I didn't get any rest.

Yea thank .God all's good. I was starting to get pissed. If it wasn't one ailment it was another!! I was starting to feel like I was doing something wrong!!

But I guess it made me stronger in the long run. I no longer cry when she gets shots because for the 1st few weeks of her life she got blood tests everyday!! Poor bebe!!

Such beautiful babies shouldn't have to experience such pain!!
