What Medication Should I Get Posted: 07-18-06 20:06pm
I have had xanax for my anxiety for a year
or so. I don't take it all the time.
The reason I want to get onto differant
medication or something extra is because
with xanax I only take them when an attack
starts or when I begin to feel anxious.
I want something to take so that the
anxiety doesnt start at all.
Any suggestions? Please

What Medication Posted: 07-25-06 15:12pm
Is it possible to get to the root cause of
your anxiety and deal with those issues
rather than take additional medication?
I know that probably sounds alot easier
than it is in reality but it must be the
better long term solution??
Kind regards,
rob

Hey there! I used to take prozac
everyday besides xanax....But it made me
so sleepy all the time, and I didn't
notice any positive effects of it on my
anxiety....Now my doctor has me on
buspar...And I love it! No tiredness, no
nausea, and no worrying if it's
working...I definitely notice a
difference!
Buspar is a bit different than the ssri's
alot of people are on....And that was
probably just what worked for me...But I
would ask your doctor about it. Everyone
is different....But I would hope it would
work for you as well as it has worked for
me! I jsut got back from a weekend in
chicago....I could have never done that
before going on buspar!

Hey I know its easy for me to say this -
but shouldn't the key be to try to quit
all drugs. You simply can't continue to
make medication over a long term period.

Agree. I am so trying to get off my
xanax. I am starting qualified
counselling in a week or so.

Maybe This Will Help? Posted: 07-26-06 22:37pm
I am on medications for depression and
anxiety, my doctor has me taking zoloft
for depression and wellbutrine for both
depression and anxiety. My family says
they notice a difference in my behavior
and such but I take the pills every night
and continue to see a therapist. Im not
going to lie, I do still have anxiety
attacks but they are easy to handle and go
away when I just have someone with me.
Your not alone!
I hope you find a cure <3

I too am learning to get through them.
The thing that I have to remember is that
when they do pop up after months without
anything.... They are just there to
remind me of how I used to be. I got
through them before and I will get through
them again, they can't hurt me
