i think it is great that you have the appointment set up. I can't tell you not to be afraid, though, but I can tell you not to stress yourself out so much (stress = more tmj pain :)) I will pray that the surgeon does a great job and that you will heal quickly afterwards. I hear it may take several weeks before the face pain, etc., diminishes, so you'll need to be patient.

Regarding your peculiar pain, yes, I have experienced similar pain. Tmj is the dysfunction from he**. I'm just so thankful that I am in a good phase at this time of my life.

Please let us (me) know how the surgery goes and everything. I will be most excited for you.
