Q: Ears Popping?

I've been fasting--(for religious purposes)--and my ears seem to pop a lot (meaning that when I open and close my mouth, or breath a certain way, they pop and they don't go back to normal for a long time--espcially the right one. It's such a frustrating feeling, because you can hear yourself in your head--if you know what I mean).

I have no idea as to why this is, and it usually happens when I do fast. I mean, I could understand if I had a cold or if I were on an airplane, but this is everyday life. So, basically, I just want to know if this is something that is a serious medical problem or if it's something I really shouldn't worry about. Thanks in advance for your help.
