Q: Lyme Just Diagnosed. 12 Years of Raging Sleep Problems

Help! I was just diagnosed with lyme disease. I've probably had this for at least 14 years. My symptoms started 12 years ago and I went through tons of misdiagnoses. I have had sleep problems for 12 years but they have been especially bad for the last 2 years. I am 26 years old and totall debilitated by this.

Anyone know of anything that actually works for lyme sleep difficulties? To give you an idea of the problem -- I did a sleep lab last year and I slept 4 hours and had 56 awakenings in those 4 hours.

Any help would be much appreciated (and desperately needed).

Thanks!

Sleep For Lymie....
Sleep is very disrupted for those suffering lyme. You might need adrenal support to help you stay asleep. Standard process-drenamin half an hour before bedtime could help. Standard process should be available at a chiropractors, health professionals office. Also a-c carbimide from standard process helps with sleep problems. Systemic formulas n3 relaxa does wonders for sleep problems even weening those that are dependent on sleep aids and tranqs off of them. In general as you kill the bugs and detox from the neurotoxins that they produce you body will find it easier to sleep. Cats claw will help eliminate the bug in you central nervous system also allowing you body/mind more peace which allows normal sleep.
Best of luck
let me know if there is anything else?

How Did You Get Your Lyme Diagnosis?
Can I ask you how they arrived at their diagnosis of lyme disease? Blood tests?

I'm struggling with a mass of horrible symptoms, and although a couple of respected docs have suggested lyme, no-one has followed up on it. And they've now given up on me.

I also have disturbed sleep... Although it's a bit better now than it was in the summer (when I would wake every 45 min, feeling like i'd been asleep for about four hours. Utter torture, 8 hours in bed would feel like a week).

I also have continuous nightmares the whole time I am asleep - if I nod off for 30 minutes i'll have a nightmare! And wake up with hearing loss.

I seemed to turn a bit of a corner with the sleep problems since I started heavy metal chelation with alpha lipoic acid. I know, it sounds crazy...

supplements, diet and exercise
This is a lot to check into but I guarantee it will be worth the time you spend. Knowledge is power and when it comes to Lyme disease you can never have enough knowledge as far as I'm concerned. By the time I was diagnosed I had full facial paralysis. I had no choice but to take the 1 month supply of aggressive antibiotics that I was prescribed.

If you are having sleep disturbances associated with Lyme disease you most likely suffer from a problem with candida as well. Most of the treatments for Lyme cause a candida overgrowth. 2 good sites for this are www.candidafree.com and www.wholeapproach.com check out the questionaires and the food lists.

Also, it may be beneficial to check into EFT or Emotional Freedom Technique at www.emofree.com, watch the introduction video.
My chiropractor started me on Drenamin and L-Lysine. Additional Lyme research I have done indicates that meats are very bad for Lyme disease sufferers, basically you might want to try going vegan at least until your immune system is built back up.
Boost your immune system anyway you can. I went out and bought a Power Juicer. It did cost me about $100, but I juice everyday, and a minimum of 5 fresh fruits and vegetables a day. yes I hope this helps.

I agree
Meat made me so sick when I had lyme. I found a great site that said to lower the copper levels. Eat foods that are low in copper change the line behind your double door frige ice cube maker to plastic or something. I threw out copper cookware, eliminated chocolate and peanuts etc birth control pill high in copper IUD's are copper. Eat lima or butter beans spinach google and check for low copper diet. Weight loss for idiots diet or 11 day diet worked great for me. it has very little meat in it. I take 500mg of molybedenum and 10mg manganese sometimes more molyb to lower copper and makes me sleep very well. first time in 30 years. I use a couple of teaspoons of Liquid Oxygen in water in the AM on empty stomach and do not eat or drink anything else for 1 hour it really is great clears the brain fog for me. I will never be on a high protein diet again I believe all that meat and the high copper combined with the anitbiotics kills your imnmune system and leaves you wide open if bitten by a tic.I also take a mixed amino acid to not cause an imballance from all of the lysine.I take a mixed mineral with low copper to ballance the molybdenum and manganese. probiotics about an hour after the Liquid Oxygen with milk. pantethine 300mg.2 or three times a day in case you can't convert the b5 in your b complex to pantithene, some b complex have very low dose b5 and your really need pantethine for the yeast and your sanity. I do E and all the rest C, b complex. Google and yahoo and research all of this info and you can seperate the truth if you connect the dots. A lot of untruths on the net. Be viligent and research, research and do it some more. You will see. Lyme is from high protein diets too much meat and not enough fruit and veggies. antibiotics and high copper low molybdenum and low manganese that is why lymies usually get herpes it is because of the high arginine and low lysine. Good luck.

coffee
Coffee is very high in arginine and killed me when I had lyme. Be careful of high arginine diet it lowers lysine. I agree 100% with ajphoenix. google any of the above with Lyme or yahoo. With all the coffee we drink no wonder people have herpes. Also diet sugar pink blue or yellow cause IBS in my friends they had an immediate cure in 3 days. Gave up all diet candy gum etc. Google it kids.

sleeping with lyme
I have had lyme since Feb. 1978 and the best thing I have found to sleep, really sleep for 9 hours is Borax yes I said Borax. I keep a plastic container of Borax in the shower and I use it instead of soap. well I do use a little coconut liquid shower soap. I let it sit on me for about 5 minutes then rinse with cooler water. Each night you use this you will sleep longer and longer sounder and sounder. Don't forget carlsons pantethine 300mg sustained release I take 4 per day.with a b-comples. It helps you sleep at night and energyduring the day.go to earthclinic.com and read Ted from Thyland he is brilliant.Good Luck .

I gave up all fruit and juice because the potassium lowers the sodium and sodium kills lyme. read anything on adrenal exhaustion and you will understand. salt tablets on amazon are good to help to sleep with the borax. go to earthclinic.com and also lymephotos.com learn about salt yahoo salt and electrolyte imbal. good luck
