Hello! I am new. Nice to meet you all...
I have a couple of symptoms that I think are a little strange. (by the way I read the post about "before you ask about pregnancy..Etc.), :) but I do want to get some opinions to see if my symptoms may be normal.
I am 20 years old, in a very serious and committed relationship, and have not been practicing any type of birth control.
I have missed my period. (first day of last period was may 18). I have taken 4 hpt, all of which are neg, and the last one I took was yesterday.
I have been experiencing all of the pregnancy symptoms, nausea, breast tenderness, tiredness, etc, but I have also been experiencing cramping. In the middle of the night I can feel slight cramps, but they usually go away by morning. It is not that bad nor uncomfortable, but it is there. (for about 2 days now) I have also been experiencing pressure in my lower abdomen. It feels as if there is a balloon on my tummy getting bigger and bigger. I have never felt that before. It does not exactly hurt, but it is really uncomfortable to be in certain sitting positions. (this started happening today)... Another thing that has been going on is, when I use the restroom,( #1) a sharp shooting goes up my stomach and it seems like into my chest. It is not painful nor really uncomfortable, just a little weird. Again, never have experienced that before either.
I do know that I may possibly be pregnant, but until I see a doctor (its sat and the Dr. Office is closed all weekend and monday), i’m not sure. With these symptoms I do not feel any intense pain or anything, but I am wondering if what I am experiencing is okay, normal, weird, etc. Or if anyone has felt it too? Please give me some advice and insight. Thanks for listening .

If you have missed a period, a pregnancy test should be positive. However, there are some cases in which a hpt is negative and there is still a pregnancy. The only way to know is to have a blood or urine test done at your doctor's office. Since you tested at home and got a negative, chances are high that you're not pregnant. Although, as I mentioned earlier, there are some cases in which a test is negative and there is still a pregnancy. Because of this, you'll need to see a doctor to determine whether or not you truly are pregnant. Some of the symptoms you have described are "common" pregnancy symptoms, however, those symptoms can be caused by a number of factors not related to pregnancy and, therefore, cannot be a reliable method of determining pregnancy. In my own opinion, taking 4 pregnancy tests and getting all negatives (especially so far after your period was due) is a pretty sure sign that you are not pregnant. But, again, I would advise seeing your doctor because there may be an underlying cause not related to being pregnant that is causing your sympytoms.

In my own personal experience, slight cramping early in pregnancy (not accompained by pain or blood) can be normal. The discomfort you are feeling when you urinate may be caused by a urinary tract infection (which can be harmful to the fetus and needs to be taken care of immediately). The pressure in your abdomen may be a sign of an ectopic pregnancy which can be fatal if not dealt with in a reasonable amount of time. An ectopic pregnancy is when the egg impalnt somewhere else other than the uterine lining.
