It's not a big deal but this morning I woke up with some mild chest pains. Hurts to twist or breath deeply. This went on for hours now.. 5 to be exact aand my shoulders/neck are tensed. My right arm/hand is cold. I shouldn't be concerned should i? I'm assuming it's just gas and that will go away???

It's the long weekend so seeing a doctor anytime soon would be out of the question. And to think i'd sit in emergency's waiting room for this for hours isn't really nessesary but someones opinion on the situation would help. Maybe a suggestion as to how to get rid of this discomfort would be helpful too.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Still..
I thought at least this would have stopped by now.. But the pain is consistant. At least I know it's not a stroke or a heartattack. I knew this yesterday too ;p

what is it??

When will it subside.. Or is there somethingi can do to decrease the pain???

Help is much appreciated!

Well I don't know what kind of chest pains you're having,
but would it really harm to see a doctor or go to er rather than being in pain and worrying about it? How can anyone answer when it will subside or what it is when they don't know how you're feeling?

Thanks For Replying
I thought I explained it fairly well. Hurts when I breathe or twist. .. That'll include coughing, yawning. Yesterday my shoulder and neck was tensed.. Today it's a bit better but it's not gone. I went out and it started hurting again. Like I had sharp pains in the left breast bone region then it went away again. Emergency isn't nessesary and the doctors aren't available until after canada day, and even then it takes a week to get an appointment.

What else could it possibly be. I'm sure someone has had similar experiences.

Thanks again for the reply :)

I'm no expert but it sounds like it could be chostocondritis, an inflamation of the cartalige where the rib joins the breastbone and I think it can be brought on by being stressed out, etc...Just rest for a few days.
To be honest I do not think your pain sounds like it is related to anything serious like heart problems or anything, but maybe visit the doctor just to be safe...Then again what do I know???

I read up on that too.. Thanks so much. So chostocondritis does not have anything at all to do with the heart. I will definitely check next time I see the doctor.

From my understanding chostocondritis can last for weeks. So theres no quick solution on how to get rid of this.

I'm going to go ahead and assume it is and do my best not to stress (for now) until I see a doctor.

Thanks a bunch,

jj

I think you should consult your doctor so he can give you the proper medical treatment for your condition.

you should definitely get checked out by a doctor, just in case, but if you only get them at night though and not when doing exercise or something strenuous, it's actually more likely to be a simple panic attack, as they can feel just like you describe.
